UPDATE: All three members of fun. will be joining Queen on stage for the performance.

In what seems like the best and most obvious use of fun.’s power pop aspirations and lead singer Nate Ruess‘ obvious Freddie Mercurian vocal talents, the band plans to join remaining Queen members guitarist Brian May and drummer Roger Taylor on stage at this weekend’s iHeartRadio Music Festival in Las Vegas. As far as nostalgia musical collaborations go, this one is a layup that should have been realized much, much earlier, especially considering Fun. seem to be constantly trying to write their own version of “Don’t Stop Me Now.”

Billboard reports that Ruess has been rehearsing “Fat Bottom Girls” and “Somebody To Love” with May and Taylor in preparation for the performance, with Adam Lambert acting as an additional “guest” — whatever that means — for the whole production. You can watch this collaboration live, along with performances from Muse, Elton John, Katy Perry, Justin Timberlake, Paul McCartney, Drake, Miley Cyrus and more through iHeartRadio’s website.
