Justin Timberlake’s “TKO”: Listen To The Knockout ’20/20 Experience: 2 Of 2′ Single
Just like with his spring release The 20/20 Experience, Justin Timberlake opts for a more “classic”-sounding JT & Timbaland tune for the second single off The 20/20 Experience: 2 Of 2. The only difference being that “TKO” stands as more of a dark mid-tempo jam than the sweet, award-winning “Mirrors,” both lyrically and musically.
“TKO” switches gears from previous, Michael Jackson-leaning single “Take Back The Night” and details a woman — compared here to a boxer going “for the gold” — who has done Timberlake wrong. As far as the instrumentation goes, Timbaland and J-Roc lay a bed of familiar synths below Justin’s vocals that aren’t dissimilar to the ones in the singer’s past singles “Cry Me A River” and “Summer Love.”
