“Hold On We’re Going Home” is one of the standout tracks from Drake‘s Nothing Was The Same, so we figured it would get special treatment when it came to a music video. But we had no idea we were in store for a cinematic action piece starring Harlem rapper A$AP Rocky and Steven Bauer, who played Manny in Scarface. The short film takes place in 1985 Miami and half-heartedly re-creates the feel of Scarface and Miami Vice, with the plot centered on Drake rescuing his kidnapped lady.

And no, he doesn’t serenade his way into the villain’s bunker. Instead, Drizzy hits up a hilariously overstocked arsenal and mounts an attack. We’re not sure why the star decided to pair a short action film with this gooey love song, but it certainly serves the “two sides to Drake” narrative, which already comprises the rapping vs. singing and vulnerable vs. vindictive push-pull.

By the way, this isn’t Rocky’s first time starring in a cinematic video for a song he had nothing to do with: the rapper depicted JFK in Lana Del Rey‘s “National Anthem” video.
