Cassadee Pope Gets Bubbly On New Single “Champagne”: Listen

If Cassadee Pope releases a new single and nobody notices, did it actually happen? That seems to be the current conditions under which The Voice alumnus is dropping new tunes, since her lead single “Wasting All These Tears” just barely cracked the Top 40 (although it went Top 10 on country radio) and successive singles have languished in the lower corners of the country charts. Still, there’s new hope for the rock-turned-country songstress with “Champagne,” a more effervescent (pardon the pun) effort than her previous few, with a pulsating pop beat married to a twangy loop and light, lovely strings.

She’s tried a few different attempts at mainstream success, but for my money, there’s no reason why “Champagne,” with its Taylor Swift-ian commerciality, shouldn’t resonate with listeners — and with her debut country LP, Frame By Frame, due out October 8, there’s still time to nab a hit.

Give it a gander below.
