Mikky Ekko pops up in the strangest places. After making his commercial breakthrough on Rihanna‘s “Stay”, the alternative singer-songwriter has now lent his howling vocals to a David Guetta dance track. It might sound like an odd combination but it’s for a great cause, so go with it.

“One Voice” is part of a UN campaign called The World Needs More. The video, which features an introduction from the French DJ and some expert brooding from Mikky, was launched at the UN General Assembly in New York and aims to raise money for the needy. All you have to do is tweet a word hashtagged in the clip and the company associated with that word gives a $1 donation.

“I am so honored to be part of this campaign,” David said. “If we can make a change just by saying what the world needs now and raise money to help the UN by watching our video… wow. That’s incredible. The hashtagged words and their donation partners are listed below:

– Barclays Bank (#Inclusion) – Western Union (#Education) – Gucci (#Strength) – Crescent Enterprises (#Entrepreneurs) – KT (#Dreams) – Intel (#Empowerment) – GlaxoSmithKline (#Healthcare) – Sergio Vieira de Mello Foundation (#Dialog).

“One Voice” premieres in full on November 4. Will you be taking part in the campaign? Share your thoughts in the comments below.
