Sia, The Weeknd & Diplo’s “Elastic Heart” From ‘The Hunger Games: Catching Fire’ Soundtrack: Premiere

On November 22, Katniss, Peeta, Gale and the rest of the crew from Panem will return to the silver screen in The Hunger Games: Catching Fire. Ahead of that, November 19 will see the release of the film’s soundtrack, which is packed with contributions by Coldplay, Christina Aguilera, Imagine Dragons and Lorde, among others. Today, we’ve got the premiere of one such track: Sia‘s “Elastic Heart,” which also features Kiss Land crooner The Weeknd and Major Lazer founder Diplo.

“I’ve got thick skin and an elastic heart,” Sia belts out over Diplo’s bombastic, mid-tempo beat and somber synths. Her voice sways between states of fragility and utter confidence, all before The Weeknd’s Abel Tesfaye arrives on the second verse to beautifully croon, “And I know that I can survive, I’d walk through fire to save my life.”

Head below to hear the lush power ballad.

Had high hopes for this collaboration. It’s not bad, trust me, but still leaves me a little bit like, “Well, let’s pour another drink and see…”

I love it, any song with Sia, it is just amazing.

Um this would’ve been awesome without Coldplay but I digress. The rest of the track list is great. I especially love “Devil May Cry” by The Weeknd and also “Elastic Heart” by Sia + Diplo and The Weeknd. Also a big fan of “Lights” by Phantogram – really I like all the songs except “Atlas.” Getting Alexandra Patsavas as the music supervisor for this one was a great choice.
