t.A.T.u’s Lena Katina “Lift Me Up” Video: Idolator Premiere

Who among us doesn’t still daydream longingly about the halcyon days when the Russian duo known as t.A.T.u. ruled the world? After serving up such Sapphic iconic smashes as “All The Things She Said,” “Not Gonna Get Us” and “All About Us,” the controversial twosome parted ways toward the end of 2009 and, apart from a brief reunion stint last year on The Voice Romania (because obviously), have continued to work on their own solo careers.

Lena Katina has just released a brand new solo single last week called “Lift Me Up.” The track — which was co-penned by Lena, Jacques Brautbar and Jasmine Ash — is a huge departure from her former dark electro-pop days, veering instead toward sunny, sparkling pop atop a striding beat and uplifting strings.

We’re bringing you the premiere of Lena’s video for “Lift Me Up.”

The breezy clip follows in line with the fresh feel of the track, as we alternate between scenes of Lena hanging up fan photos in her apartment (all of whom are holding “you lift me up” photos — cute!), strolling along the beach with her band and jamming out on the roof — all while smiling, laughing and generally living (and lifting) it up.

Lena dropped her debut solo single “Never Forget” in 2011, followed by 2012’s “Melody” with Clark Owen. “Lift Me Up” is the latest single from Lena’s upcoming debut studio album, which is nearly complete.

It’s clearly a bright new beginning for Lena.
