Ariana Grande Drops Ke$ha-Penned “Pink Champagne” To Celebrate Twitter Milestone: Listen

Ariana Grande, pretty-in-pink princess and part-time florist, kept her word and shared a new track with fans after hitting 10 million Twitter followers last night (October 1). And it wasn’t just any song. “Pink Champagne” is the holy grail of lost teen-pop anthems.

The 19-year-old first tweeted about working with Ke$ha in late 2011. The fruit of their labor looked set for release when the pair shared pictures from the studio in February 2012 but then it sunk without a trace and missed the Yours Truly tracklist entirely. Big mistake. “Pink Champagne” rivals “Piano” as Ari’s cutest pop moment.

“We’re gonna hail a cab and don’t look back when we get in it,” the ponytail pioneer sings before tackling the sparkling chorus: “make it pop like champagne in the purple rain, we’re gonna paint the city!” It’s a sugary bubblegum-pop explosion that would have brightened up Yours Truly no end.

If you need a reminder of Ke$ha’s ridiculous songwriting talent (and the direction Ariana should be going in) take a listen after the jump.
