JoJo Covers Nirvana’s “Smells Like Teen Spirit” In Seattle: Watch
Ahh, JoJo — she of the flawless vocals and eclectic taste. While the songbird is out on a West Coast tour with her buddy Leah LaBelle, making all the usual stops, she’s turned out a few exceptional performances — not the least of which was her jaw-dropping take on SWV‘s “Weak” when the tour kicked off in Arizona — but turned her vocal stylings to a local classic in the birthplace of grunge when she performed in Seattle last night.
Covering Nirvana‘s iconic “Smells Like Teen Spirit,” roaring live instrumentation and her vocals (packing a lot more growl than usual) made it riveting and energetic. (She even looked a little grungy. Well played.)
