Bonnie McKee Drops “Sleepwalker” Video, Just In Time For Halloween: Watch

It appears that singer-songwriter Bonnie McKee isn’t just satisfied to write mega-hits for Katy Perry (she co-wrote “Roar”!) and release soaringly great pop tunes of her own (see: “American Girl”) — now she’s a horror movie heroine, too. (Dream big, kids.)

Her new song (she specifies that it’s not a new single, but in fact, an “in betwingle,” which is the thing that happens between singles) is “Sleepwalker,” and it’s a roaring good time; the Oligee, U-Tern and Boys Noize-produced track is crunchy, club-friendly electropop with lyrics that are surprisingly (and appealingly) honest. “Tequila and lime, I felt nothing / My card was declined, I felt nothing,” she sings, referencing her struggles with sobriety and time spent living out of her car

The video, though, is all high-concept, a horror film in miniature that’s well-timed for the Halloween season. What’s better than candy-colored Bonnie? Uh, spooky Bonnie.

Watch up top.
