Justin Bieber Hangs On For Dear Life On “Hold Tight”: Listen

So far for his #MusicMondays releases, Justin Bieber has embraced subtler sounds for a batch of romantic jams. With “Heartbreaker,” he channeled Miguel, and the arrangement on “All That Matters” resembled some of The Weeknd‘s more straightforward material. On latest track “Hold Tight,” Bieber continues his newfound infatuation with R&B’s slinkier, woozier side.

The song finds Bieber hanging onto his love for dear life, as her lips won’t let him go. It’s a completely pleasant bit of minimalist R&B, putting Bieber’s voice at the forefront of the song over a spare, synthetic beat, so we’ll forgive him for rhyming “Ziploc” with “lip lock” (alternate options: Tupperware/never care, Mr. Coffee/missed her softly).
