Dami Im was crowned the winner of X Factor Australia last night (October 27) after dominating the talent show all season with a string of stellar performances. Her DNA-produced (the team behind Geri Halliwell‘s “Half Of Me” and Ricky Martin‘s “Come With Me”) debut single is already number one on Australian iTunes and could well have international appeal.

Veering away from the power ballads that won her the crown was a risk that ultimately pays off. “Alive” is a perky mid-tempo pop tune in the same vein as Katy Perry‘s “Roar”. The lyrics are uplifting, it’s immediately hummable and aptly showcases the Korean-born diva’s powerful pipes. The song rivals Samantha Jade‘s “What You’ve Done To Me” in terms of high-quality winner’s anthems. Watch Dami perform her future blockbuster hit after the jump.
