Kanye West Says Kim Kardashian Will Take His Last Name, Reveals He Has A New Song With Miley Cyrus

Kanye West continues his Jekyll-and-Hyde act, presenting himself as a brooding, seething, high-concept artiste during his Yeezus shows at night, and appearing as an affable eccentric during his daytime interviews. West’s latest media stop was On Air with Ryan Seacrest, and while there was no freestyle this time, Ye dropped some revealing tidbits about his personal life and engagement to Kim Kardashian.

Most notably, he revealed that Kim will take his last name once they are married, which is surprising considering her entire brand, her entire status as a celebrity, is based on her last name. West also said he’d wear a wedding ring.

In non-personal news, and after the interview, Yeezy told the Seacrest crew that he worked on new material with Miley Cyrus — not a “Black Skinhead” remix as previously reported.

Additionally, Ye claimed Kim’s engagement ring was only four hours old when he did the “turnt up” birthday proposal last week. (He also, hilariously, apologized to mankind for setting such an impossible proposal standard that night.) There was even a legitimately endearing moment when Kanye admitted to being nervous about the proposal, and mispronouncing his “blatantly fine as hell” fiancee’s last name the first time he thought he was in love with her. “I saw a picture of her and Paris Hilton, I think they were in Australia,” Kanye told Seacrest, “and I said to my boy, ‘Have you seen that girl Kim Kardijon?'” It’s hard to believe there was once a time when people didn’t know how to say that name.
