Eminem collaborated with some of music’s biggest names on The Marshall Mathers LP 2 — hitting up Rihanna, Kendrick Lamar, Nate Ruess and Skylar Grey. The rap legend also worked with go-to vocalist Sia on “Beautiful Pain”, which was mysteriously relegated to bonus track status.
The simmering hip-hop/pop ballad shows a different side of Em. He raps about second chances and self-improvement, spitting: “Yesterday was the tornado warning, Today’s like the morning after.” That’s when the Australian diva ups the emotional ante by taking it to church on the soaring chorus.
“Standing in the flames it’s a beautiful kind of pain, setting fire to yesterday,” she sings. “Find a light, find a light, find a light.” Listen after the powerful collaboration jump.
