Eminem Performs “Berzerk” And “Survival” On ‘Saturday Night Live’: Watch

Eminem turned back time on tonight’s (November 2) episode of Saturday Night Live. The 41-year-old resurrected Slim Shady for his rafters-raising rendition of “Berzerk”. With his closely cropped hair dyed blond, the MC stormed the stage wearing an all too familiar parka — after producer Rick Rubin kicked off the performance by scratching some records.

The lead single from The Marshall Mathers LP 2 doesn’t really lend itself to an eye-catching TV performance — there is no pop hook or chorus to speak of — but Em made up for that with sheer energy and vitality. By referencing his early work so obviously, perhaps the rap legend is reminding newcomers that he’s the original and best?

Later in the show, Eminem returned to perform an even more aggressive version of “Survival” with long-term collaborator Skylar Grey. Dressed in jeans and a cropped hoodie, she looked right at home screaming the angry chorus. As for the bottle blond MC? He tore through the song without skipping a beat. Sadly, the duo didn’t perform their MMLP2 collab “Asshole” but you can’t have everything. Watch their electric performance after the jump.

Did Eminem hit it out of the park? Let us know in the comments below.
