The Flaming Lips’ Wayne Coyne Says Ke$ha Collaboration Album ‘Lip$ha’ Is Canceled

The Flaming Lips frontman (and alt-rock icon) Wayne Coyne made headlines earlier this year when he announced during a Reddit AMA that he planned to team up with erstwhile collaborator and friend Ke$ha for an entire album together — called (what else?) Lip$ha.

But with conspiracy theories abounding about Ke$ha’s fraught relationship with Dr. Luke and her label, RCA Records, things have been looking a little grim for K$ — and now, as it turns out, Lip$ha is dead in the water as well.

Coyne tweeted about it earlier this morning, in a rather cryptic message:

If his intention was to stoke the flames of Ke$ha’s furious fanbase, who are chomping at the bit to see the songbird released from her label deal and granted more creative control, job well done.
