Kanye West Surprises Odd Future Crowd To Perform “Late” & “New Slaves”: Watch

Kanye West took a slight detour from his own Yeezus tour to surprise the crowd at Odd Future‘s Camp Flog Gnaw in Los Angeles. Even ringleader Tyler, the Creator seemed stunned to introduce him: “Fuck it, I don’t know what to do right now. So, uh, can I have a hug first?” Yeezus obliged.

To back-up vocals from Tyler and Earl Sweatshirt, he even smiled as he performed “New Slaves” and “Late” from 2005’s Late Registration, a song that he hadn’t performed in six years. West is an intense and impassioned live performer, as evidenced by the bejeweled executioner’s mask that he wears on his Yeezus tour and the misguided reputation he holds for “ranting” at shows; in comparison, to see him actually at ease is slightly disconcerting (but nice!). The geeked-out welcome must have helped.

Watch “Late” up top, then see “New Slaves” after the jump.
