We never would’ve guessed it, but these weekly #MusicMondays tracks from Justin Bieber are collectively turning out to be his most cohesive and impressive project. Thematically and sonically, they’re uniform — murky and subtle productions exploring the pain of love. The latest installment, “All Bad,” fits right along with those established characteristics.

There’s a gently rolling beat here with minimal percussion, as a few haunting piano plinks echo and vocals reverberate in background static. Bieber sings “I ain’t all bad, I might make you mad,” for a pleading chorus that could cleverly serve as his message to the hounding media as well.
