Ellie Goulding Shares Icy Electronic Adventure “Mirror”: Listen To The ‘Catching Fire’ Cut In Full

The Hunger Games: Catching Fire soundtrack is yet to produce a dud song. Christina Aguilera‘s “We Remain” hits all the right notes (literally and figuratively), Sia soars on “Elastic Heart” and The Weeknd ruthlessly claws at your heartstrings on “Devil May Cry”. Joining that rather esteemed company is Ellie Goulding. The full version of “Mirror” surfaced online today (November 13) and it’s a worthy addition to the LP.

More sparse and experimental than the snippet would have you believe, Ellie’s Catching Fire contribution is perhaps the least commercial of the bunch. The extended intro is a meandering ambient adventure full of spooky synths and whispered vocals that eventually gives way to a powerful dub-step-infused chorus. “I was the girl who was on fire, only a bird could get much higher,” the Brit sings in her trademark airy vocal. Listen after the jump.

Is this as good as the other Catching Fire cuts? Let us know in the comments below.
