Lady Gaga’s ‘ARTPOP’ On Track For Number One With 260,000+ First Week Sales Tally

Lady Gaga‘s ARTPOP is expected to debut at number one on the Billboard Hot 200 next week with fans snapping up 260,000+ copies. That would place it just beneath opening bows by rival divas Katy Perry (Prism tallied 286,000 copies) and Miley Cyrus (Bangerz sold 270,000 copies).

The much-hyped opus becomes Mother Monster’s second chart-topping LP and should rank as the third highest opening week for a female artist in 2013. ARTPOP‘s final sales tally could be slightly higher — projections are generally conservative — but it still represents a staggering drop from Born This Way, which debuted with first-week sales of 1.1 million in 2011.

Is 260,000 a decent first week for Gaga? Have your say in the comments below.
