Prince Gets Dumped In “Da Bourgeoisie”: Hear The New Track

We have no idea what Prince has up his purple sleeve these days — a new album? — but we’re just glad he’s been active over the past few months. The buzz tracks he’s been releasing have skewed in two directions: either blazing rockers like “Screw Driver” or lean funk workouts a la “Breakfast Can Wait.” This latest cut, “Da Bourgeoisie,” falls in the latter camp, with The Purple One venting about lost love.

The song is built on hi-hats and clean guitar lines, but the vocals are straight-up “my woman left me” blues grit: “I guess a man’s only good for a rainy day,” “I wish I never kissed your lips,” etc.

Hear the sounds of a scorned Prince below.
