Whatcha Say: Lady Gaga & Britney Spears Got Our Readers Talking

As the year draws to an end, pop’s heavyweights are pulling their last punches before we start wrapping up and looking back at the year’s best releases. Lady Gaga got everyone talking (and applauding) with her SNL episode, as well as ARTPOP‘s #1 debut — which trigged a bunch of sales debate. (And hey, have you entered to win a special ARTPOP bundle yet?)

Britney‘s Britney Jean snippets made their way online as we celebrated the 10th anniversary of 2003’s In The Zone (and did you catch our premiere of the official Jane Doze remix of “Work Bitch”?), while Christina Aguilera had us bawling with the video for her A Great Big World collaboration, “Say Something.” And of course, Katy Perry also stunned with her own music video for PRISM single “Unconditionally.”

As always, you guys had plenty to say!

:: drew had nothing but love for Jessie Ware — and Idolator! — on Jessie Ware Performs “Running” On ‘Conan’, Sounds Flawless: Watch: “Just a shout-out to Idolator…without you my music world would be nothing. I love Jessie Ware (thanks for introducing me) and I just saw her live. She is amazing.”

:: blaackeagle saw similarities between Demi‘s new video and Brit Brit’s classic clips on Demi Lovato Hits The Club In “Neon Lights” Video: Watch: “Britney Spears inspired Demi to wear that famous leather jacket. Some scenes reminded of Till The World Ends. And I think Demi knows it and she likes it. Me too.”

:: Justin S. is clearly not a true lover of music — at least not on Christina Aguilera And A Great Big World’s “Say Something” Video Will Make You Cry: Watch: “Found it a little bit boring.”

:: Tommy C. wasn’t sold on Britney Jean on Britney Spears Unveils ‘Britney Jean’ Album Sampler: Hear Snippets Of Each Song: “Sticking with what I said before, I liked every song on Femme Fatale and this album feels like a step down, but still glad theres new Britney music and will buy the album still.”

:: While danieljamesmc couldn’t be more excited: “Britney Jean? This is going to be an iconic record… She doesn’t sound like a robot… the songs are meaningful… you can tell her heart is in this album!! It Should Be Easy sounds like a huge club anthem, Alien, Passenger, Perfume, Til Its Gone, Body Ache, Brightest Morning Star, and Found you all stand out to me…. Everyone needs to stop being so critical of Britney… the girl hardly does any promotion and always ends up on top… Its Britney B*tch!”

:: Paul M. read through our American Music Awards guide and came to one conclusion on 2013 American Music Awards: A Viewer’s Guide: “When did music start sucking ass so bad that this is the future of music? It’s tragic. Help!”

:: Dylan took a stand against Cher‘s rant against Sarah Palin on Sarah Palin Labels Cher Irrational For Calling Her The C-Word On Twitter: “Cher was in the wrong. It is about time we cease the hypocrisy of people who supposedly stand up against bullying (Cher and the LGBT community) and yet use their platform to bully others just because they have a different ideology. Sarah Palin may not be my pick for a politician, but she is still a human being with feelings. As for your “why can’t they let Cher be great” statement, there is NOTHING great about Cher’s hateful bullying.”

:: Britney Lover got back into the zone on Britney Spears’ ‘In The Zone’ Turns 10: Backtracking: “Bradley this is just beautiful! ITZ will forever be Britney’s crowning achievement…such a perfect era musically and visually.”

:: ptizzy needed an oxygen mask after seeing Katy’s new video on Katy Perry Bends Time And Stops A Moving Car In Her Glamorous “Unconditionally” Video: Watch: “Her best video hands down. This is breath-taking.”

:: And finally, mike was simply not feeling it: “It looks great but lacks any real substance. It’s no coincidence it was directed by a director of commercials.”
