Taylor Swift snagged four American Music Awards on Sunday night, but it doesn’t sound like she’s resting on her laurels: After the songbird teased that she’s in the planning stages of her album in a New York cover story, she said in an interview backstage at the AMAs that she’s much further along than that.
When Billboard told the songstress that her label head Scott Borchetta had told them that Swift had played them seven songs earlier today, Swift conceded, “Yeah, we’ve got a lot. We got a lot already. There are probably seven or eight that I know I want on the record, so that’s really ahead of schedule for me. I’m just stoked because it’s already evolved into a new sound, and that’s all I wanted. I would have taken two years to make that happen, but it kind of happened naturally.”
In short? If you’re expecting an album in the fall of 2014, it may be coming much sooner than that.
