“No New Friends?” According to Drake, not exactly. He has already invited a slew of high-profile guests (Wiz KhalifaJuvenile) to join him on stage during his tour, which already features Miguel and Future. And at Los Angeles’ Staples Center on November 25, he brought out two extra special guests: fellow Young Money signee Nicki Minaj and West Coast rap king Snoop Dogg.

As Minaj and Drake performed their Take Care duet “Make Me Proud,” the two showed no signs of tension. It’s as if they wanted to show that choice lines from Drake’s “Tuscan Leather,” off Nothing Was the Same, spoke of the past and not the present: “Not even talkin’ to Nicki, communication is breaking / I dropped the ball on some personal shit, I need to embrace it.” They exchanged smiles and playfully sized each other up, before Drake demanded more applause for Minaj. “Los Angeles, make some noise for one of the most beautiful, talented women in the entire world,” he said to the crowd.

And when Snoop Dogg took the stage, Drake made the calm but charismatic rap star feel at home. After he performed “The Next Episode” and “Nuthin’ But a ‘G’ Thang,” Drake called him “one of the most important people not only in music, but just in the world.” Then, he asked if Snoop could perform another. Without hesitation, Snoop lit up a blunt, then inhaled before launching “Drop It Like It’s Hot.”
