Justin Bieber Strips It Down On Piano Ballad “Change Me”: Listen

Justin Bieber has been stripping away the high-octane production on his #MusicMondays tracks, and the latest effort — his penultimate song in the series, titled “Change Me” — is no exception. (It’s also not as vulgar as the R. Kelly-assisted “PYD,” so that’s either a good or a bad thing, depending on how you look at it.)

“Change Me” is dreamy and drifting, pretty but aimless, a piano-driven ballad that eschews a central hook for a few clever couplets: “Don’t fight fire with fire / If I’m screaming, talk quieter,” he sings. Cue the speculation that this song, like so many others, is also about Selena Gomez — but even without the pull of a celebrity couples connection, it’s pretty enough to stand on its own.
