One Direction continue their winning streak with their new LP Midnight Memories as the record lands at #1 on the Billboard 200 today, knocking previous chart-topper Eminem to the #2 slot with his album, The Marshall Mathers LP 2Billboard reports that this makes One Direction the first in history to debut at #1 with their first three albums (chart trivia!); their latest offering moved an impressive 546,000 units, while 2012’s Take Me Home sold 540,000 and 2011’s Up All Night sold 176,000.

Sales gains abounded this week, even if One Direction’s competition wasn’t particularly stiff: Eminem’s album moved a healthy 199,000 copies, showing a 65% sales gain, while Katy Perry‘s Prism shot from #11 to #5 with 136,000 copies, showing a 252% gain over the previous week. Lady Gaga‘s ARTPOP, too, moved up — one slot to #7, selling 116,000 copies — a 154% gain over the previous week.
