Watch One Direction’s Behind-The-Scenes Footage: Find Out Why Liam & Louis Didn’t Get Along
Did somebody say drama? In a just-unveiled extra scene from One Direction‘s This Is Us documentary, two of the band’s most beloved members (well, they’re all beloved) reveal that while they may be good friends now, it wasn’t always that way.
Apparently, when the group first got their start on The X Factor, vocalists Liam Payne and Louis Tomlinson butted heads — due to Liam’s responsible nature and Louis’ prank-happy tendencies. As Liam explains: “Me and Louis did not get on at all. We were two completely different characters. He was really loud and bubbly. I think there was one point where I literally wanted to whack him.”
Indeed, it was because of that tension that Liam ended up with the nickname “Daddy Direction.” (You could take that in a few other directions, too, in fairness.)
