Well! Everyone is getting mighty festive, including country superstar and The Voice judge Blake Shelton, who has just released a cover of the Yuletide standard “Silent Night” with his old pal Sheryl Crow. The campy cover artwork aside (that outfit! That pose!), it’s a solid offering from the country king, pairing his twangy, raspy vocals with the more velvety vocal stylings of Crow.
Sure, it’s a little self-serious — it’s rare to find a holiday offering in the country genre that doesn’t — but hark! Just try to listen to these two wailing together in the song’s final moments and tell me it isn’t great.
