Beyonce Selects “Blow” And “Drunk In Love” As The New LP’s Lead Singles

Beyonce changed the game last night (December 12) by throwing her self-titled fifth album on iTunes without a lead single (or word of warning). Billboard subsequently reported that two songs would be serviced to radio next week as dual singles on different formats — much like “Single Ladies” and “If I Were A Boy” repped I Am… Sasha Fierce.

But the titles of those future hits were a complete mystery until Sony Music Italy accidentally let the cat out of the bag. According to their tweet, “Blow” will hit radio next week in Europe. That selection was subsequently confirmed by Billboard. “Drunk In Love” will serve as the other lead single, with “XO” to follow in early 2014.

“XO” and “Pretty Hurts” would seem to have more commercial appeal but the Justin Timberlake-penned, Pharrell/Timbaland-produced (let those credits sink in for a moment) disco adventure is a great choice for pop lovers, while urban radio will eat the Jay Z-assisted “Drunk In Love” up. See Sony Music Italy’s tweet and watch a preview of “Blow” after the jump.
