Daft Punk, Kendrick Lamar To Perform At 2014 Grammys

Daft Punk are leaving their fortress of solitude next year to perform at the Grammy Awards, according to the show’s executive producer Ken Ehrlich. He told Rolling Stone they were in talks with the duo, and the “Get Lucky” hitmakers decided to do “a collaborative and celebratory stage performance that honors their multi-nominated music,” which we’re assuming means Pharrell will join them on stage, at the very least. But also Nile RodgersJulian CasablancasPanda Bear! The possibilities are endless!

It’s somewhat mind-boggling, but this will be the duo’s first live performance of the Random Access Memories era — and it’s their first televised performance since joining Kanye West for “Stronger” at the 2008 Grammys.

Kendrick Lamar last night (December 18) announced on Twitter that he’ll also be performing at the ceremony. He’s become a staple of television appearances over the past year, but it’s no less exciting to see the good kid reaching the big stage already. Both the French Robots and K-Dot are nominated for Album of the Year.

The Grammy Awards will air live on CBS on January 26th, at 8 p.m. EST
