CHVRCHES had a breakout year, landing on countless Best-Of lists for their excellent The Bones Of What You Believe. So which 2013 albums were the favorites of these new synth-pop favorites? We got the trio of Lauren Mayberry, Iain Cook and Martin Doherty to tell us which bands they had on repeat this year.

And since these Glaswegians know what it takes to put out a strong debut, it’s fitting that all three of them chose a debut album as their favorite of the year. For Lauren, it was Daughter‘s atmospheric rocker If You Leave, while the guys picked a pair of dance records: The Range‘s lovely Nonfiction and Factory Floor‘s throbbing self-titled full-length. Find out why they loved these albums up top, then be sure to check them out yourself.
