2013 was the first year in since 2008 that the great and powerful Rihanna didn’t grace the world with a new album. But the superstar is rumored to be back on track and working on a new LP to be released later this year. And DJ Mustard, of all people, is likely the first person to offer up some concrete evidence of this. In a recent interview with Hip Hollywood, the ascendant L.A. beat-maker revealed he’s hitting the studio with RiRi for her eighth album.

“I’m finna go in with Rihanna,” he revealed, saying “of course it is” for her next album. “I’m just doing what I think she would like, and if she don’t like it we’ll just figure out something else in the studio, and I’ll just keep making beats ’till she figure it out. But she’s gonna get one.”

Mustard, the mastermind behind “Rack City” and “I’m Different,” creates what he calls “ratchet music,” so RiRi is pretty much the perfect muse for his thumping West Coast beats.
