Lady Gaga Denies Rumors ‘ARTPOP’ Lost Her Label Millions, Makes Claims Of Betrayal In Fan Chat

Lady Gaga got candid with fans during a recent chat on her Little Monsters forum, clearing the air on rumors that ARTPOP lost Interscope several million dollars and making vague attacks against unnamed members of her team who “betrayed” her. Amidst rumors that the album’s 258,000-sale debut (mediocre for her) led to a multi-million dollar deficit and layoffs at her label, Gaga said flatly there is “no truth to many of your comments, including the 25 million dollars deficit.” She claimed that at Interscope “they in fact love me very much and will see ‘ARTPOP’ to the end.”

What’s more, it sounds like Gaga’s ARTPOP blitz is far from over, and that she’s ready to do some reckoning after apparently feeling like a victim. “The next few months of ARTPOP will truly be its beginning,” she said, “because those who did not care about ARTPOP’s success are now gone.” (Of course, the first assumption is that this has something to do with her split from manager Troy Carter.)

“My heart breaks from the people I have trusted and loved who I’ve worked so closely with, who have used me, lied to me, worked me into the ground for the personal gain,” she wrote. “Those who have betrayed me gravely mismanaged my time and health and left me on my own to damage control any problems that ensued as a result.”

Sounds like ARTPOP: Act II will be a more vengeful affair.
