It’s official: After a lot of speculation (and a novel’s worth of cryptic tweets)Kylie Minogue has confirmed that her new single “Into The Blue” will be released on March 16, with reports circulating that the song will also be premiered on radio as early as January 20. Her new album (her twelfth!) will follow later this year; it will be her first since 2010’s magnificent Aphrodite.

The song was written by Kelly Sheehan, who has writing credits on Rita Ora‘s “How We Do (Party)” and Nicki Minaj‘s “Young Forever” (a good sign!); it’s described as “a euphoric return to the dancefloor.” And really, who doesn’t want that?

Also slated to appear on the album, production-wise: Pharrell, Greg Kurstin, Metrophonic, Cutfather, MNEK and Ariel Rechtshaid. Really, the shaking and crying can commence any minute now.

Especially given that the songbird promised that the new single combines the avant-garde vibe of “Slow” with the classic songcraft of “Love At First Sight,” this feels mighty promising indeed.
