Jennifer Lopez is back doing what she does best: namely, reminding us that through all the career upgrades (Fly Girl, actress, pop star, etc.) she has undergone zero personal development whatsoever, she’s the very same Jenny from the block who was raised in the Bronx, just with more money but otherwise, the same person. Ya got that? JLo’s latest paean to her roots is the Chris Brown-penned “Same Girl,” and perhaps timed with her American Idol return this week, the star has released a teaser clip from the music video.

The visual was directed by Gomillion & Leupold and shows Lopez waiting for a ride on the subway, dancing in the rain underneath a subway platform and mugging in front of Bronx graffiti. And just to really make sure we see how authentic she is, she sings, “‘Cause I’m on the same grind, no I never changed, I’m loving everyday, I know that I’m the same Jenny from around the way now.” Message received.

Watch the clip up top and check out her tweet about the preview below.
