In the mood for some easy-breezy, uplifting pop? Then get a load of “Louder,” the title track from Lea Michele‘s upcoming pop album (due out February 28). “Come out of the shadow, step into the light / this could be the moment, are you ready to fight,” the Glee star sings atop a wash of synths and a driving beat. And speaking of driving, here’s how Lea herself describes the song to Billboard, who premiered “Louder” last night: “It’s a song that, no matter what, I can play in my car with the windows down.”

“Louder” was written by Colin Munroe, Jaden Michaels and Anne Preven — the latter being a former member of L.A. ’90s band Ednaswap, who originally recorded “Torn” (a song made insanely famous by Natalie Imbruglia), and a co-writer of Madonna‘s Bedtime Stories track “Sanctuary.” So it’s safe to say Anne Preven knows a thing or two about penning a tune.

“Louder” is, of course, no “Torn.” But it’s the type of pleasant pop fare that suits Michele’s voice well, and sounds good as we careen happily toward springtime. Give it a spin below.
