Annie Confirms New Richard X-Produced Song Is On The Way Via Series Of Facebook Pics

Norwegian dynamo Annie and her longtime collaborator Richard X teased the pop-loving masses last summer with a five-track EP called, appropriately enough, The A&R EP. It was truly one of the best releases from 2013, and Richard X explained to us at the time, “I’d started some rough backing tracks, but pretty much the EP was written and recorded in a week when she flew over. I seem to spend a lot of time laughing when Annie is in the studio…”

It seems the British producer is in a giddy mood once again, as Annie has now confirmed there’s yet another tune from the pair on the way. The singer wrote the following on Facebook yesterday while posting three new photos, including the above one: “Yes boys & girls…I recorded a new track with Richard X, out soon!!!”

With new music on the horizon from Robyn, Katy B, Paloma Faith and now Annie, 2014 is already looking like it might eclipse 2013 as far as pleasurable pop output. (Thank God.) Catch two more Annie pics below.

“Waiting & waiting…..waiting for Richard to forward me the last version,” Annie wrote when posting this particular photo.

Finally she added this one: “It´s a wrap….it´s LOUD….perfect,B OUNCE baby BOUNCE.” Hmmmm. Bounce — a possible hint at the song’s title?

Also, if you’re a firm believer, as we are, in the notion that Richard X is an arbiter of tasteful pop, then it’s looking good that this new track will be another Annie classic. “If I’m going to be spending time listening and working on music, it’s got to be something I like, or it’s not going to work — so there’s no point for anybody,” he told Idolator last year.
