Guy Sebastian’s Infectious EDM Adventure “Like A Drum” Gets A US Release

Guy Sebastian‘s “Like A Drum” finally lands on US iTunes today (January 14). The lead single from the Aussie superstar’s American debut was a double platinum smash at home, reaching number four on the ARIA singles chart. (His 11th top 10 hit in Australia).

“I am so excited to release an album in the United States for the first time,” the inaugural Australian Idol winner mused in a press release. “I’ve had so much support from my American fans and I can’t wait to take my music to the next level.”

The 32-year-old first made waves stateside with gritty Lupe Fiasco collaboration “Battle Scars”. The ballad spent 20 weeks on the Billboard Hot 100 in 2011 and was eventually certified platinum. “Like A Drum” could build on that success with its artful blend of soul and EDM — think Avicii‘s “Wake Me Up” — and infectious chorus. Watch the Australian video (it might be “refreshed” for the US market) after the jump.

Will the track work in America? You be the judge in the comments below.

  4. Been a US fan for many years. His sound is universal. People here just need to hear him to become fans. It’s all up to the marketing from his label.
