Selena Gomez takes over the March issue of Seventeen magazine — posing for three different covers. The “Slow Down” diva rocks a different colored t-shirt for each cover emblazoned with words like “dream”, “brave” and “confident”. As usual, Sel is pushing a feel-good message and manages to look absolutely adorable in the process.

As for the cover story, the 21-year-old opens up about female pop stars and her inferiority complex. Selena expresses her support for Lorde, who had some unkind things to say about “Come & Get It”, saying: “I’m going to support her whether she likes me or not because I think she’s doing great things.” Sel also remains hopeful that their feud will end. “Someday I will see her and we’ll be cool.”

Her relationship with Katy Perry is much less dramatic. In fact, she turns to the prismatic superstar for love advice. “I actually talked to [her] about guys who are intimidated by strong girls,” she explains. “I haven’t found someone yet who could understand my lifestyle, support it, love me through it, and not be threatened by it.” I guess this interview was conducted prior to her reunion with Justin Bieber?

Perhaps the most confronting moment is when Selena reveals that she felt “defeated” and “like an underdog” when compared to fellow Disney divas like Miley Cyrus and Demi Lovato. “Even though my show was picked up, it seemed like I was putting in so much work and seeing no results,” she admits. “I questioned the way I looked, acted, sang, and wrote.”
