Outkast Album Alert: Queen Latifah Backtracks, Apologizes For Working Twitter Into A Frenzy
Queen Latifah earlier this week dropped a bomb that Outkast were prepping new music, but now she’s backtracking and ATLien fans are back in speculation mode regarding new material. Latifah tweeted, “the rumor mill says I predicted an @Outkast album…except I didn’t. Sorry to get twitter a flutter.”
The star on Tuesday (January 14) nonchalantly told Howard Stern that Outkast are “about to work on a new album.” At the time, she didn’t sound particularly abreast of the latest developments with the duo’s reunion, as she was unaware of their 40-date announcement, so it wasn’t like she offered something concrete for fans to latch onto. But since Latifah is their former manager, this was a particularly meaty piece of gristle for the rumor mill, which is why it stuck and probably why she was compelled to respond.
