Shakira Reveals Her Upcoming Album’s Title

And the title of Shakira’s upcoming 10th studio album is…Shakira. The singer explained on Facebook that when it came time to put a name to the LP, “what I realized is that throughout the course of creating this body of work, I learned a lot about myself. Though I didn’t realize it at the time, all the directions I began exploring in the initial phases of recording were helping to pave a path for me of rediscovery.”

That seems like a good enough reason to opt for a self-titled LP, no?

2014 is shaping up to be a busy year for Shakira. Not only does today mark her son Milan’s first birthday, the singer’s duet with Rihanna, “Can’t Remember To Forget You,” was released last week as the first single off the upcoming Shakira (out March 25). A Spanish version of the track, featuring just Shakira, was added to iTunes yesterday.

Additionally, the sixth season of The Voice begins on February 24, and finds Shakira once again replacing Christina Aguilera, who’s taking a break so she can continue to be flawless.

Speaking of her son Milan, Shakira wrote the following on Facebook this morning about her new LP:

The work on this album has spanned a very eventful time, with many ups and downs but ultimately, the happiest period in my life thus far, including the birth of my son. I’ve explored many different directions, worked with many different people, and written many, many demos before arriving at the finished product I will soon be presenting to you.
