The Emancipation Of Troy Carter: Lady Gaga’s Former Manager Signs Sky Ferreira

After Lady Gaga parted ways with her manager Troy Carter over “creative differences” in November, Carter was described as feeling “liberated.” And while Gaga’s post-Carter career thus far has been uncharacteristically floundering, Carter’s post-Gaga moves do seem to reflect those of a person snatching up newfound opportunities. Earlier this month Carter signed Miguel and John Mayer, and today (January 22) comes the announcement that he is now representing Sky Ferreira.

“I’m now managed by Troy Carter & atom factory,” Ferreira wrote on her Facebook page. “New year, new beginnings.” Considering Sky’s bumpy past in the industry, and the fact that Carter is credited with helming Gaga’s pop culture takeover in 2008, this could be a great strategic move for Ferreira.
