Pitbull & Jennifer Lopez Team Up For World Cup Theme Song

Pitbull‘s reign cannot be stopped. The “Timber” chart-topper has snagged an assignment worthy of his Mr. Worldwide moniker, as he’ll be teaming up with Jennifer Lopez for the 2014 World Cup song. “We Are One” will be the official anthem for this year’s FIFA World Cup Brazil, and along with JLo, it features Brazilian singer Claudia Leitte —a perfect match since JLo is an American Idol judge and Leitte serves as a coach on The Voice Brasil.

This marks Pit’s fourth collaboration with Lopez, and the pals are currently filming a music video for the track along with Leitte, and the trio is prepping for the June 12 Opening Ceremony performance of it to kick off the tournament in Sao Paulo. The World Cup anthem has been dominated by Latin stars in recent years: Shakira was behind the theme for the 2010 South Africa Cup, “Waka Waka (This Time For Africa),” and Ricky Martin‘s “The Cup Of Life” soundtracked the 1998 tournament.
