The Radio Edit Of David Guetta And Skylar Grey’s “Shot Me Down” Arrives: Listen

David Guetta‘s EDM update of 1966 classic “Bang Bang (My Baby Shot Me Down)” has been trimmed for radio airplay. The dance floor-friendly running time (5:15 minutes) has been slashed to just over three minutes. While I’m still getting my head around a dance version of the Nancy Sinatra/Cher staple, the edit certainly makes it more palatable.

The track closely follows Avicii‘s “Wake Me Up” formula of blending raw acoustic moments — courtesy of Skylar Grey‘s husky vocal — with bone-rattling beats and the radio version simply trims away some of the instrumental. Time will tell if “Shot Me Down” takes off but the French DJ has an impressive track record. Listen to the song after the jump.
