Petition To Deport Justin Bieber Gaining Steam

Usually the novelty petitions that cycle through WhiteHouse.gov’s We The People program are fun diversions with no real chance of actually receiving Executive review. (The effort to name R. Kelly‘s “Ignition (Remix)” our National Anthem was a recent failure.) But a new (grammatically and factually suspect) petition to have recently arrested star Justin Bieber deported from the US has a real shot at hitting the threshold for official review.

“We would like to see the dangerous, reckless, destructive, and drug abusing, Justin Bieber deported and his green card revoked,” the petition reads. “He is not only threatening the safety of our people but he is also a terrible influence on our nations youth. We the people would like to remove Justin Bieber from our society.” The petition needs 100,000 signatures by February 22 in order to proceed to the next step of the process, and as of this writing it is well on its way, needing only 31,948 more. What say you, Beliebers?

See the full text of the petition below, and head here to sign it if you’re down with the cause.

We the people of the United States feel that we are being wrongly represented in the world of pop culture. We would like to see the dangerous, reckless, destructive, and drug abusing, Justin Bieber deported and his green card revoked. He is not only threatening the safety of our people but he is also a terrible influence on our nations youth. We the people would like to remove Justin Bieber from our society.”
