Kylie Minogue‘s video for lead Kiss Me Once single “Into The Blue” is as gorgeous and romantic as the song itself. The half-color, half-black-and-white clip actually resembles the cinematic vibe of a few of Kylie’s classic clips from the latter half of her PWL stint, during the early ’90s, such as “Finer Feelings” and “What Do I Have To Do.” Put that air of familiar Minogue-ness down to the singer working once again with director Dawn Shadforth, who previous lensed “Spinning Around,” “Can’t Get You Out Of My Head” and “2 Hearts.”

This time around we see Kylie involved in a passionate fling with a man played by handsome French actor Clement Sibony (The Tourist). They dance sensuously at a party, kiss lovingly in bed and then appear to have some sort of fight. The video begins with Clement running down the street toward, we later see, the departing Kylie.

Will they patch things up in time to save their relationship? Watch above to find out.

  1. Can’t compare this to past musical and visual triumphs of “Spinning Around” or “Can’t Get You Out of My Head,” but the video is proof that Kylie is doing something right. Not desperate, appropriate for someone of her age, and full of classy, iconic and fashionable imagery, I would have to say that this is a winner. Many of her contemporaries, including the older pop queens, should take a hint instead of running around in costumes more suitable on 20 year-olds or making sad attempts at contreversy and shock value.
