The Jezabels Take Us Behind ‘The Brink’: An Exclusive Look At The Making Of The Band’s New LP

The Jezabels are back! Their second album The Brink drops February 18 in the US and we have an exclusive behind-the-scenes look at the making of the opus. Stakes were high for the Australian pop/rockers after generating massive buzz with debut LP Prisoner but they rise to the occasion with a rich and confident collection of tunes that explores new musical horizons.

Take “Look Of Love”. The euphoric single is a three minute trip to the ’80s with its snappy synths, fuzzy guitars and killer chorus. That new pop sensibility has a lot to do with the input of producer Dan Grech-Marguerat (previous clients include Dragonette and Scissor Sisters), who — as we find out in mini-doco Behind The Brink (above) — shares lead singer Hayley Mary‘s love of pop and ABBA!

Other interesting tidbits to emerge from the video is how the band’s relocation to London impacted their sound and their increasing confidence as musicians after surprising music lovers with extremely great songs like “Endless Summer” and “Rosebud” on their first album. Find out all there is to know about The Jezabels and The Brink up top.
