Ashanti Teams Up With Beenie Man For New ‘Braveheart’ Cut “First Real Love”: Listen
After years of setbacks and delays, Ashanti’s (by this stage, almost mythical) fifth album Braveheart finally drops on March 4. But what can we expect from the R&B diva’s first LP in six years? Well, we’ve heard the Rick Ross-assisted hip-hop anthem “I Got It” but apart from that it’s all a bit of a mystery.
Today (February 20) the “Foolish” hitmaker lets go of reggae-infused jam “First Real Love” — a collaboration Jamaican MC Beenie Man. It’s an interesting mesh of sounds that harks back to the dancehall explosion of the early ’00s when Ashanti was ruling the airwaves. Could the 33-year-old be taking it right back to the beginning on Braveheart? Listen after the jump.
