Pharrell’s “Happy” Is Equally Serotonin-Raising As A Club Anthem

Pharrell really is the man of the moment. His forthcoming opus G I R L is perhaps the most anticipated album of 2014, “Happy” remains at number one on iTunes and looks set to replace Katy Perry‘s “Dark Horse” at the top of the Billboard Hot 100 in the next couple of weeks. Even his Vivienne Westwood-designed Grammys hat is a phenomenon — attracting a bid of $10,500 since being listed for auction!

Now seems as good a time as any to celebrate Pharrell’s revival with a cute house remix of his Despicable Me 2 smash. The toe-tapper was a massive international hit in 2013 before exploding stateside and many of the house overhauls were commissioned at that time. The best effort (because it captures the cheerful essence of the original) belongs to British DJ Danny Dove. If you feel “like a room without a roof” this is just what you need! Listen to an even perkier version of “Happy” after the jump.
