Pink To Perform At The Oscars, For Some Reason

Pink revealed via Twitter today (February 21) that she’ll be performing at the 2014 Academy Awards. She joins a roster that already includes U2, Pharrell, Karen O and Idina Menzel. Bette Midler has also been confirmed to take the stage, and somewhat unbelievably it will be the legend’s first time performing at the Oscars.

While the other four acts are all nominated for Best Original Song, and Midler has a celebrated history in film, Pink has… well, she was in Rollerball 12 years ago! Are we missing something? We’re not entirely sure why Pink is there — maybe she’ll be doing her high-flying sky dancing thing (once again) as a tribute to stuntpersons, who knows — but details about the gig are sure to emerge soon.

In the meantime, check out Pink’s tweet with the announcement below.

Ellen DeGeneres hosts the ceremony this year, which airs live on ABC on March 2 at 7 p.m. ET.
